Far Cry Primal Animals (Wolves, Leopards and Bears)

It is fascinating that Far Cry Primal lets gamers explore a whole new world of hunting and taming wild creatures. It is even more lucrative if you find rare animals, and the best part is that they are not exclusive to quests.

So, where can you find a Striped Wolf in Far Cry Primal? Although it is mostly about chance, you will likely bump into a Striped Wolf in the Izila area, particularly the Western part. Players also stated that they found one around the Fire Screamer as they were heading southwards. Your chances also improve if you are hunting with a wolf that you had already tamed. Moreover, the Striped Wolf will likely spawn if you have killed several other common breeds. Lastly, to be specific, you can use the hunter’s vision to help spot the rare animals from a pack of other wolves.

Any gamer would prefer running into rare breeds and unique animals, regardless of how hard they are to find. If you have been playing for a while now, you must have noticed that the White Wolves are pretty easy to track down.

The only challenge is finding the stripped variation. You will see that it is spikier than its counterparts with a mark on its face. If you have spent days trying to bump into one but you haven’t been successful, here’s what to do.

You have a higher chance of finding a rare Striped Wolf in the Izila region. Some gamers have also reported spotting one around the Fire Screamer when going South, while others are certain that the creature may lurk in the Western part of Izila Land.

Otherwise, you also have a better chance of finding one if you had already tamed a White Wolf and you are using it in your quests. Additionally, you can deploy your hunter’s vision, and you may luckily bump into one.

Generally, the Striped Wolf is a complex creature to find and may take hours, if not days, of your gameplay. It is usually a matter of chance for players, but you may locate one if you look around Izila. A striped breed is a valuable animal in Far Cry Primal that you can tame or use for hunting upgrades.

Having it by your side means incredible stats for your gameplay since it has 3 Speed and 3 Stealth. It is also a fantastic hunter that growls when enemies or predators are approaching, and it is fire-resistant.

Where To Find Leopards in Far Cry Primal

In Far Cry Primal, the Leopard is a predator you can easily tame and tag along on your hunting quests. They are fast and significantly help when you are in the wild, even better than Jaguars. If you have never run into one, the following is the best place to look.

There are very high chances of finding a Leopard in Far Cry Primal if you hunt in the snowy regions on the map. Therefore, you will be luckier if you stay longer in the Northern area, although you can still spot one in the South.

Also, the locations tend to vary with the time of day. Thus, it is better to hunt longer in the Snowy region and travel faster within different tight areas. Even so, you may still have to bring along your best hunting skills because they can be pretty challenging to find.

If you get a side quest to hunt leopards, you will notice that they have a better chance of appearing in Northern Oros, particularly the Snowy locations. It is their permanent residence, making it rare to bump into one in the South.

Statistically, they have 4 Speed, 3 Strength, and 4 Stealth, thus a great addition to your tamed animals. They are also skilled hunters, able to spot other creatures around. Lastly, unlike Jaguars, Leopards are more hostile, although they are relatively tasking to spot.

Can I Find the Cave Bears While Gaming Far Cry Primal?

You can get involved in numerous quests in Far Cry Primal, but one of the most exciting missions is when you go hunting with your tamed animals, impressive skills, and weapons. Consequently, you get essential items like precious skins that you can use for crafting. I have an excellent place to start if you have considered finding a bear for taming or skinning, but you don’t know where to look.

The hot spots for Cave Bears are in the Northern parts and towards the top left or right of the map, including the Southeast regions. You may also need to pay attention to the snowy parts of the Oros country since bears love snow-capped areas. Once you find one, you can either kill and skin or tame it.

Most gamers prefer the latter since you can use it to your advantage against your rivals or when hunting for other animals. The Cave Bear is usually challenging to pursue because it is enormous, hostile, and intimidating.

The bear boasts 4 Damages with a whooping 5 Health. It also has 5 Strength, 1 Stealth, and 3 Speed. Besides the Health, the other stats of the Cave Bear may seem minimal yet very essential on the battlefield.

For instance, you can tame it to help you fight an enemy and assist you in collecting loot. Making the bear docile is quite simple; fight the animal until it loses over a third of its Health, then once it’s immobile, hold the taming button to complete the task. Besides domesticating a Cave Bear, its skin is invaluable in upgrading and crafting items such as huts from your inventory.

How Can You Find Rare Lion Skin in Far Cry Primal?

The rare Black Lion is another highly coveted yet almost impossible-to-find creature in Oros. You will not locate it in an exact spot on the map, which is problematic for first-time Far Cry Primal players. However, it is quite exciting to find it.

To find the rare lion skin, go where you will likely find the common lions and deploy the hunter’s vision. The yellowish cloud tends to follow the rare breed; thus you can use it to track one. Other gamers also state that they found the rare lion in the North-Eastern part of Rotten Lake, or in the South-West during quests where they had to kill many lions. Also, if you are lucky, you may run into a rare lion skin lying around, particularly near caves or in outposts where lions frequently spawn.

There is no specific location where you can find the rare lion or its skin. It is mostly all about luck, such that the more you play, the higher the probability of finding one. However, it is advisable to go to common areas where the regular lions are and follow the yellow streak through your hunter’s vision to direct you to the rare breed. Also, Far Cry Primal doesn’t allow you to skin a rare, tamed lion. It won’t let you use it for any other task in the game.

How Can You Find a Cave Lion in Far Cry Primal?

There are two variations of cave lions, the standard White and the Rare Black. Many gamers enjoy hunting them down due to the perks and unique abilities that they come with. Therefore, how can you find a cave lion in Far Cry Primal?

Cave Lions are not very challenging to find like other rare creatures since they are usually distributed all over Oros. There is no specific area to look at, making it more interesting to hunt for them. However, you will likely find a white or black version if you start with a place with a high lion population.

You can use the hunter’s vision to direct you to find the rare breeds when you get there. You can also take up more quests to find and tame a cave lion but remember that you cannot use a tame lion’s skin in the game.

The two cave lions are some of the deadliest carnivores on Far Cry Primal. On the contrary, you can still tame them and take them along on your hunting expeditions all over Oros. They also have considerable Stealth and Speed, able to detect enemy locations, perfect for when you want reliable sidekicks. They are generally solitary creatures and look nothing like real-life lions. When you hunt one down, you get a precious rare skin that you can use for upgrades.

How Can You Find a Wolf in Far Cry Primal?

The Primal mode in Far Cry allows you to encounter several wild animals, most of which you can locate from the map. On the contrary, other creatures are pretty tasking to find, and you have to go deeper into Oros for them. There are many wolf species in Far Cry Primal, including the Snowblood, Stripe, and White wolf; fortunately, I know how you can easily find them in your hunting expeditions.

One effective way of finding a wolf in Far Cry Primal is by using the hunter’s vision to locate a blood trail leading you near a mountainous region. Alternatively, you can also head to the South-Western area of the wolf symbol on your map, and your hunt can quickly spawn in between the rocks.

You can deploy a bait and lure the White wolf from the cave and tame it to drive the animals towards you. You can also complete Takker’s quests, and one of them will lead you to a cave where you’ll find a White wolf.

The White wolf tends to be the most common species in the Primal mode. There is also a rare striped breed, although it will likely spawn after you kill several White or Snowblood wolves. The Snowblood, on the other hand, is a common species usually residing in the furthest Southern end of the map.

The wolves walk in packs and sometimes in the company of a White Wolf, but you will rarely find them alone. To hunt them, you will face a heated battle, and it would be best to have one of your tamed beasts by your side. Instead, many gamers would take down the weakest and Alpha males to finally get to the White Wolf.

How To Find a Badger in Far Cry Primal

Far Cry Primal has some of the most exciting hunting missions that you may not find in other FC series. While searching for these animals, you must accomplish other quests before undertaking the actual assignment. Many gamers often complain about not finding a badger in the Primal mode, but it is pretty straightforward, as you are yet to see.

You will likely succeed if you hunt Badgers in the Southern regions of the map, precisely towards the Western side. The area has several hideouts making it easier to place your bait and sneak back to your hiding spot. Furthermore, if you zoom closer on your map, the chances are high that you may notice certain areas that are Badger-infested.

If you don’t find one even in the mentioned areas, it’s still ideal to try your luck in the snow-filled Northern parts of the map. Finally, the Southeast areas are full of wild Badgers; however, they aren’t safe to navigate, particularly when dark.

It is advisable to always have bait with you if you want to hunt for badgers. You can place the meat chunk on a particular spot, carefully listening for any movements, and you may hear a distinct noise inching closer.

Next, you will have to select the right weapon for the hunt depending on the badger’s size and hostility level. If it is drawing towards you, you can use your club to hit it on the head. Once subdued, you can either tame or kill it for its skin. Hunting Badgers with the quest giver’s permission is also essential, primarily if you are a beginner and need considerable experience.

Wrap Up

The best aspect about Far Cry Primal is that the animals you can hunt are not necessarily trapped in particular quests. Therefore, you can always bump into any animal breed while hunting. The rare creatures are relatively more challenging to find in Oros, although they have more benefits to your gameplay. You can either tame them or skin them for crafting.

The key is to find the right place to look and understand how best to attack them. Generally, you can use a hunter’s vision when in a pack or herd of the common breeds and follow the yellow streak to spot the rare variation among them. Also, the more animals you kill, the more the spawning chances of their unique counterparts.
